Taking its name from the flying fish living in the Mediterranean, the Volitan is an environmentally friendly boat considered as one of the alternatives of the future. Using sails, wind and solar power to get around while storing the energy in its batteries, it also obtains fresh water from seawater and does not produce carbon dioxide emissions. The secret of Volitan — which can operate in 60-knot winds is the way its four wings react to weather conditions thanks to its sail design. Besides the solutions it brings to the current balance issues, it is described as the boat of 2014 since it hosts so many innovations which can be accepted as revolutions in boat design. The Volitan is the new symbol of raising awareness on the sustainable use of resources on the sea.

İsmini Akdeniz’de yaşayan uçan balıktan almış olan Volitan, geleceğin alternatiflerinden biri olarak değerlendirilen çevreci bir teknedir. Güneş ve rüzgar enerjilerini kullanarak hareket edip enerjiyi bataryasında depolarken, deniz suyundan tatlı su elde eder ve karbondioksit atık üretmez. Yelkenlerinin tasarlandığı şekil itibariyle hava koşullarına uyum sağlayarak 60 knot rüzgarda çalışabilen Volitan, mevcut denge sorunlarına getirdiği çözümler başta olmak üzere, tekne tasarımında devrim kabul edilebilecek pek çok yeniliği içinde barındırmakta ve 2040 yılının teknesi olarak nitelendirilmekte. Volitan, geleceğin temiz enerji kullanan deniz ulaşım araçlarını simgeler.
